Dorothy Booker celebrated her 101st birthday at our Shirley Benson PACE location on April 12,2022. A wonderful time was had by all! Wendell Brunious and his band performed as did dancers from the Passion Dance Center. Mablel Beasley whose favorite bible quote is John 15:17 ".... that you love one another as I have loved you..." celebrated her 101st birthday on May 12, 2022. Mabel lives on the west bank so we had her party at our Hope Haven location.
Both ladies were surrounded by family and friends. PACE's all inclusive program works to help keep seniors in the community by offering medical services, social activities and an adult day center on the East and West bank of New Orleans.

Volunteers Are the Heart of CCANO

Alexander Montegna has been volunteering at our Food for Seniors Program for the past year through a program coordinated by Ashlin Kohus with the United States Marine Corp. Alex grew up in Houghton, LA although he was born in Tucson,AZ. He really enjoys the physcial aspect of packing the boxes with the food that Food for Seniors then delivers to seniors throughtout Louisiana. Alex feels that volunteering adds to your life. Interacting with people and working together for the greater good is what it is all about. We really appreciate the decidated service of Alex and his fellow marines!

Recognizing Milestones at Audubon Tea Room

 Employee Recognition Lunch:
On April 26th, 2022 we celebrated employees who have been with Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years! The theme this year was "Service through Love". Along with the milestone years we did recognize Ms. Angelina Randkin who recently retired after 37 years of service.

Head Start News You Can Use

Head Start took a field trip to the ZOO! The children had quite the adventure viewing the animals and enjoying the day out of the classroom.
Head Start is a program that provides a learning environment that supports children's growth in many areas such as language, literacy and social and emotional developement. CCANO's Head Start program also provides Early Head Start, which serves infants, toddlers and pregnant women and their familes who have incomes below the Federal poverty level. We were able to include 3 of our schools to this eventful day at the zoo.
