Head Start Class of 2024 Makes the
Leap to Kindergarten

Congratulations to the amazing children from the Head Start programs in New Orleans, who have officially moved on to kindergarten!

The "Rocking into Kindergarten" ceremonies were a wonderful celebration of their achievements, and we are so proud of each and every one of them. It was heartwarming to see them walk across the stage of Schulte Auditorium at Notre Dame Seminary, with words of encouragement from Rhonda Taylor, Head Start Program Director; Sr. Marjorie Hebert, CCANO CEO & President; and Deacon Martin Gutierrez, VP of Mission & Community Engagement.

Head Start is such an important program that supports the development of children from birth to 5 years old, including those with disabilities - and these kids are shining examples of its success! Your hard work has paid off, little ones - we can't wait to see all that you will achieve in kindergarten and beyond!

Project SAVE's Vicky Gordy retires after
20 years at Catholic Charities

Vicky Gordy, Project Manager with Project SAVE, retired last month after more than 25 years with the program.

As Vicki looks forward to her retirement, she's excited to spend summers watching her 3-year-old granddaughter and working on two writing projects. Stay tuned for a study guide to accompany her book, "A Heart for God: Loving God with Your Whole Heart," and a brand new children's book!

Plus, she'll continue to lend a helping hand with Project SAVE as an occasional volunteer.

Congratulations to Vicki on this exciting new chapter of her life!

In the News: Catholic Charities' response team in it for the 'long haul' - Clarion Herald

new mosaic

Anyone who lived through Hurricane Katrina almost 20 years ago can attest to experiencing a skewed sense of time.

Full recovery following a major natural disaster does not happen immediately, which is why Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO) refers to itself as a “forever” responder rather than as a “first” responder in the aftermath of hurricanes, tornadoes, oil spills or any other calamity that hits south Louisiana.

Click here to read more from the Clarion Herald on how Catholic Charities has and will always be there for those in need during hurricanes and other natural disasters...
