Rooted in a Lasting Legacy of Service
Dear Friends of Catholic Charities,
Happy New Year and thank you for your continued support! 2018 marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of the City of New Orleans, and subsequently, the 300th anniversary of the Catholic Church in New Orleans. As Archbishop Aymond declared in his homily during the Tricentennial Mass at St. Louis Cathedral earlier this month, "The history of the Catholic Church and the history of the city of New Orleans cannot be separated. They are very much intertwined and have been for 300 years."
As we celebrate this significant milestone, we must examine our roots and capture the spirit of those first Ursuline nuns, impelled by the love and teaching of Jesus Christ, in serving the most vulnerable in our community. Read Sr. Marjorie's full letter.

Counseling Solutions to Host Opioid Abuse Forum
The Counseling Solutions program of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans is collaborating with the Substance Addiction Ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to present a series of community education forums on opioid abuse. Our goal is to help families and community members learn more about this crisis, to better understand the causes, signs, consequences of opioid use and abuse, as well as treatment and resources for individuals coping with addiction and their loved ones.
The forum will begin on Wednesday, March 21 in the St. Dominic gym. Learn more about this important series.

Each year, churches across the Archdiocese of New Orleans take up a second collection benefiting Catholic Charities. Your support in this collection provides crucial funds that enable us to be a source of hope and help for over 76,000 individuals and families each year. This year, the second collection benefiting Catholic Charities will be held on February 17-18, 2018! Visit our website to learn more about the collection and to see CCANO at work in your parish.
