November E-News

Dear Friend,

As you will read in this newsletter, we recently collected and distributed over 300 Thanksgiving food baskets to families.

Before they left our offices, the Archbishop came and blessed the food and offered up the following prayer that I am sharing with you.

“A Prayer of Blessing”

God most provident, we join all creation In raising to you a hymn of Thanksgiving on this special day.

For generation upon generation peoples of this land have sung of your goodness; we too offer you praise for the rich harvest we received at your hands.

Bless us and this food which we share with grateful hearts.

Continue to make our land fruitful and let our love for you be seen in our pursuit of peace and need.

Praise and glory to you, Lord God, now and forever.

Amen.

I hope that you are able to read this prayer with your own loved ones this Thanksgiving and delight in the blessings He gives to us.

Happy Thanksgiving!

HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS & GIFT DRIVE

Thanks to donors and volunteers like you, we were able to distribute 307 food baskets to families from 21 of our programs this year for our clients in need to have a warm, nutritious Thanksgiving!

Archbishop Gregory Aymond blessed the Thanksgiving baskets prior to being delivered to families in need.

You can still get involved in our Holiday Giving campaign by contributing to our Christmas toy and food drive! During the season of giving, you can provide families in need with food baskets, gifts and clothing. We are still in need of donors to adopt families this holiday season.

You can get involved by visiting our Holiday page or by downloading and returning the Christmas Adoption Form.

 Archbishop Hanna with childrenAHCA Campagn:

Gifts to the Archbiship Hannan Community Appeal (AHCA) raise crucial unrestricted funds that allow Catholic Charities to respond swiftly, effectively and compassionately in times of crisis or disaster.

Your donation means supporting a local charity that best understands local needs. We serve the 8 civil parishes that make up the Archdiocese of New Orleans: Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. John, and Washington parishes.

Archbishop Hannan Community Appeal Donors, Bruce and Jackie Shreves, have been involved in Catholic Charities goes back 30 years.

When speaking about why they donate to the AHCA campaign, they said, "I donate to the AHCA campaign because there are so many different services they provide under one umbrella that instead of giving to each one of these types of programs, I can give to one organization and all of those programs will be handled by their various offices. It is remarkable how many different services they provide and how many offices the various problems we have in the city. Hopefully, my donation will go to improve all of these programs and services."

Join Bruce and Jackie Shreves in providing unrestricted funds that allow us to help our neighbors in need.
